Elabela identified as potential hormone for regenerative medicine

Scientists from the Institute of Medical Biology (IMB) of Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), in Singapore, have discovered that the recently-identified hormone ELABELA is critical in promoting the growth of human embryonic stem cells (hESCs), suggesting its potential as a target for applications in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. The study was conducted in collaboration with A*STAR's Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB) and Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS).
