Global study finds 6 year rise in life expectancy since 1990

The 'global burden of disease' study, carried out by an international consortium of researchers and led by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington, found that life expectancy across the globe rose by 6 years between 1990-2013. However, in spite of better worldwide longevity, general health remains constant, meaning that pressure on health systems caused by an 'unhealthy' aged population will persist as a key global issue.
